The Facets of Jadedisland
Get in depth look at my styles, muses, and inspirations brought to life by Artist Kelsey
Inspired by my love of Anime Magical Girls, this facet of my writing and style represents my Kawaii (Japanese for “Cute”) lifestyle. I admire Ultra Femme aesthetics, the color pink, and magic. From Sailor Moon to Sanrio this part of me is 100% invested in being Kawaii and Fierce. This is the newest of my inner selves, and perhaps most famous for “Pink Energy”. I have a fiery spirit and temper and I protect femme energy, Kawaii lifestyles and all kawaii melanin I come across. Unique to this writing voice, “Kawaii Journalism” a writing style I created on my own, is to share the intersection in kawaii lifestyles, and mentality. You can look forward to seeing my work featured soon, but for now enjoy it on my blog.
Inspired by my academic pursuit and personal roots with psychology, mental health, and healing Yukijoro is the second facet I named. The myth of the fantasy creature/spirit and ice deity spoke to me when I read about, "the woman who died in winter". After experiencing and overcoming some of severe trials of my own, I often felt like I was trapped in ice, looking towards a positive and beautiful world. So the frozen healer holding a mirror is one of my perceptions of self. My stronger, but perhaps melancholic, muse helped me through loneliness and isolation by reshaping my writing voice and emotive style. The focus of my writing style under the influence of my inner muse yukijoro is "mentality" and the overall reflection of the emotions that lie deep within. My hope is to process the life lived and the life I hold now. Of all my writing voices, this is the most true to the me now, I am still the woman who is healing from her winter. This facet has the most presence on my blog, as she is the one reflecting on my journey and experiences.
You can catch this guide on my main blog sharing my wisdom, experiences, and reflections.
The dual wield ranger is the part of me that seeks adventure, the pink knight. Inspired by my great nerdy love for Arthurian legends and quest filled literature the knight is my classy side. However, adorned in ruffles and raunchy boutique this femininity has a bite. As curious as i am about the world, this writing voice springs from the quest of the heart, "Freedom". My words linger on the idea in my adventures, all while seeking out a world I often feel the need to protect others from. The knight is my old soul still on the adventure of a lifetime.
You'll find this guide swinging around my posts about my adventures in the city and more.
Inspired by my time as supporting second violinist, the bard is the part of me that supports others, the one who shares tales & stories in a creative way to uplift other artists. This writing style comes from the belief that stories should be shared, and in my own way I choose to share them. On my platform I uplift artists of colors, and make sure I support them as best as I can. From writers to visual artists the community I build and the people I meet are never forgotten or left behind. I support the dreams of the artists and creatives I meet in the hope that art and creativity will contribute to a world of light, knowledge, and acceptance. I once heard that writers are the keepers of history and I hope that I help put more creatives of color into that history.
The oldest part of me is Succubus, the deviant and chaos lover. Courting literature and creativity equally, this facet speaks to my creative side both in story telling and poetry. Succubus is the voice that lures you into her fantasy and spins your soul into her alluring but gritty style. There is truth to her chaos, there is grace in her fantasies. She is evil, she is cute, she is the dark kawaii scholar of my soul with quite a few provocative tales to tell.
