Mentality

The various moments in my life, along with advice, motivations and fashionable perspectives.

 Cleric - Yukijoro

Inspired by my academic pursuit and personal roots with psychology, mental health, and healing Yukijoro is the second facet I named. The myth of the fantasy creature/spirit and ice deity spoke to me when I read about, "the woman who died in winter". After experiencing and overcoming some of severe trials of my own, I often felt like I was trapped in ice, looking towards a positive and beautiful world. So the frozen healer holding a mirror is one of my perceptions of self. My stronger, but perhaps melancholic, muse helped me through loneliness and isolation by reshaping my writing voice and emotive style. The focus of my writing style under the influence of my inner muse yukijoro is "mentality" and the overall reflection of the emotions that lie deep within. My hope is to process the life lived and the life I hold now. Of all my writing voices, this is the most true to the me now, I am still the woman who is healing from her winter. This facet has the most presence on my blog, as she is the one reflecting on my journey and experiences.

You can catch this guide on my main blog sharing my wisdom, experiences, and reflections.

Chapter 1: Anime Lips an Aesthetic

Romance is Dead. As are my lips, from wearing matte lipstick and feeling like my luscious lips are the lingering remnants of a chalkboard.  Why I suffer chalk mouth to look good, is a mystery. It could be laziness about reapplying lipstick or my enduring need to be a living art form. The point is matte lipstick is what separates me from looking like an anime fan living at home with their parents to being the empress that I am. Blessed lips, turns any anime fan from a zero to a hero. I'm speaking to you, the person with the fandom shirt with lips like concrete. Why does Gaara the Kazegage of the sand village have better lips than my fellow anime nerds? He is a sand shinobi in Naruto, so you would expect the love of my anime life to have dusty lips, to add to his sand aesthetic. He has glorious lips, and no one can tell me otherwise. By now you're wondering or pondering over what the Leo empress has to say on lips, can she save your dried life?

Yes, in the name of the moon I'll punish you, gently, so you could have the luxury of my lips and be fabulous. I've heard amazing things about doing lip scrubs, but personally, I don't partake in that lifestyle. I would have to make my own, and that's an upkeep that's too expensive for my poor derriere. If I put sugar and vaseline on a sponge will it produce the same effect and make my lips softer than velvet? I will let you know if it works.

For now, my routine for my imperial lips is as follows:

  • Washing my face in the morning and night
  • After the night routine, I rub a layer of vaseline on my skin including my lips
  • While picking my lip colour, I apply an underlayer of chapstick or vaseline
  • Then apply your lip colour (Matte recommended for the lasting colour)
  • When removing your makeup, remove lipstick or matte using vaseline to gently remove the colour

Basically, I am recommending vaseline. Even if you don't prefer exaggerated or excessive makeup looks keeping your lips moisturized and plush should be a stable across all looks and lifestyles. A little vaseline, like lube for those into the pleasurable endeavours, goes a long way. I use less in the summer and more in the winter. It will save your dried lips within a week of use. Remember it takes 30 days to build a habit.

Now, I gave you basic care, but say you have your routine and it works. You want to know why my colours look divine for every outfit. First, find your colour palette. Whats the overall trending colour of your wardrobe? Do you tend to wear darker shades, brighter shades, or is your closet a whirlwind of colour? When you buy lip shades, consider this, NOT EVERY COLOR is going to look good. Go into stores anticipating that the colour is going to be a cringe festival on your face. So if you can, test the colour on your wrist. Once you see it looks good, its a positive and happy experience.

Picking out your lip shades, consider what accents you have in your wardrobe and your mood. My go-to colour is red. I like the power and statement, but sometimes I feel bold and dabble in pinks or other varying bold colours. Recently I tried a metallic shade of green, and I'm going, to be honest, I was scared it was too crazy to wear on my lips. The audacity of that thought, who said I the melanin enriched empress could not risk green lips? A fool. That fool was me, and my doubts. I forgot one key element about wearing lipstick. Lips can be an accent colour for any outfit and event. Choosing the colour adds a flare that makes anyone dynamic and have a presence.

Your presence creates and develops your aesthetic. So dry lips and an anime t-shirt, are no longer a mood for me. If you can buy the t-shirt you can buy some chapstick and maintain beautiful lips. Believe me, moist lips save lives. Your husbando or waifu has glorious lips and you can too. This is the key to my fierce looks. I make my lips divine.

This is my aesthetic therapy, Empress Jade
