Kawaii Street: Pastel Mage in Training
Pastel Mage In Training:
I feel Magical. I love how this outfit came together, I love how it felt to wear. I truly felt what it meant to be a magical girl and I’m living for that feeling. I’m not saying my mental illness is cured, and my body no longer has ailments, but my soul feels magical, and that’s a beautiful experience. Now let's talk about today’s look, which is easily a new favorite of mine.
I felt inspired by magical girls, specifically Maka from Soul Eater! I’m also a big fan of Crona, but that’s a story for another time. I have admired many stories of witches and magical girls over the years while holding love for black cats in my heart. Which is why Maya Kern has really outdone herself with the perfect skirt, and yes it has pockets deep enough to hold my Nintendo Switch. In general, using the elements and colors of the skirt, I styled my outfit from there. The peter pan collared Pusheen top is so adorable and adding my personalized Resin Heart just made the piece come together even more magically. As always I love custom work and styled items to really embellish my personal story. I also wore my first custom collar from Collared by Rose, my friend does amazing stitch work, and it’s so comfortable to wear for long periods of times.
What I really love about this outfit is the feeling I had wearing it. At my core, I am a storyteller. I felt that in today’s look of well-matched pieces assembled flawlessly that I was more. A mage in training, a spring student hopeful for adventures in magic and lore. Am I a fable or a myth? All I know is being a battle mage means I’m springing into action as a magical girl.
