Magical Girl

Battle Mage - Magical Girl

Inspired by my love of Anime Magical Girls, this facet of my writing and style represents my Kawaii (Japanese for “Cute”) lifestyle. I admire Ultra Femme aesthetics, the color pink, and magic. From Sailor Moon to Sanrio this part of me is 100% invested in being Kawaii and Fierce. This is the newest of my inner selves, and perhaps most famous for “Pink Energy”. I have a fiery spirit and temper and I protect femme energy, Kawaii lifestyles and all kawaii melanin I come across. Unique to this writing voice, “Kawaii Journalism”  a writing style I created on my own, is to share the intersection in kawaii lifestyles, and mentality. You can look forward to seeing my work featured soon, but for now enjoy it on my blog.

You can catch this guide to navigate you to my Kawaii blogging, and cute style and cute ideas.

Kawaii Street: Hello Kitty Kei

My Hello Kitty Café Truck Coord wasn’t anything dramatic, but I really like the idea of doing coordinated Sanrio outfits or more specific Hello Kitty Kei. I’m still shocked that I did not think about doing a Hello Kitty Pink look, but I don’t mind the power popping red Classic Kitty look. I don’t know if in the future when I take inspiration if I will actually have cat ears like Hello Kitty, but that’s not off the table. I never know what magical things will happen with my closet and I might surprise myself. I’m trying to make Hello Kitty Kei a regular go to in my styles, and honestly, I would be thrilled to coordinate looks with others in that style.

My Hello Kitty Business:

First of all. This might be the only recent Coord that isn’t directly pulled from the characters in my head. I took inspiration from Hello Kitty and coordinated the pieces of my outfit to match that. Big shout out to the fast food tycoon McDonalds for doing Hello Kitty Toys, and Converse for providing me with laces for my Dr. Martins that add that Kawaii TOUCH. I had to think about my hello kitty big item, and unfortunately, I don’t have many Hello Kitty clothing items. This is due to the fact Hello Kitty is marketed more to kids, and people forget about longtime fans like me who have been a ride or die since 1994. In truth, my closet is still a work in progress, but I work with what I have.

I started with the Hello Kitty x Puma shirt, which to my chagrin you can’t actually see in my photos. I was too hype about wearing overalls like the classic Hello Kitty that I forgot my proportions don’t make it ideal for graphic t-shirts. A lesson for people top heavy: Graphic tees and overalls not suitable for displaying the top, instead focus on wearing a patterned or colored top to make your overalls outfit look different. Better tip, don’t be afraid of how overalls fit and yes, you can wear crop tops and overalls.

In this look, I also tried bringing some my professionalism into my Coord with a popping red blazer, but I ended up wearing the faux fur coat cause I was stuck in the wind tunnel of Tysons Corner. I added in the McDonalds clip to my beret and threw stickers on my face which was inspired by the Coords I see from Kamilah, the creator of Hard Decora . Honestly, the stickers while placed in an “E-girl” way were honestly really fun, and I want to do more of that in makeup experiments.
