Magical Girl

We forget about the journey of magical girls and here is the space in which I explore everything related to kawaii, harajuku, anime, and everything pink.

Battle Mage - Magical Girl

Inspired by my love of Anime Magical Girls, this facet of my writing and style represents my Kawaii (Japanese for “Cute”) lifestyle. I admire Ultra Femme aesthetics, the color pink, and magic. From Sailor Moon to Sanrio this part of me is 100% invested in being Kawaii and Fierce.

Kawaii Street: Case of Sweet Stripes

Have you ever taken time to consider what truly drives your self-expression? I know I do quite a lot. I know that my love of story encourages not only my style but the way I perceive the world. In the case of Jfashion, I take a lot of inspiration from anime, fellow artists, and of course, culture. I'm driven to marry the craft of storytelling into my style. Its why these look books always have such a fun voice to them. If it sounds happy its because I am, I love how storytelling drives my style and interpretations of Jfashion. In today's lookbook, I took a little inspiration from one of the magical stories of my childhood. "A Bad Case of Stripes" is a book by David Shannon that potentially made my love of color grow exponentially.

A Striped Love Disaster:

I finally was able to get some items from Sweet Bitz for my own. I have not stopped cheesing ever since. The leggings besides being perfectly soft and comfortable allow me more freedom for bottoms to be actually colorful for potential Fairy Kei, Decora, and Party Kei looks. However, today's look was casual pastels only because I had a low key date to see the Detective Pikachu movie. Which let's talk about that nostalgia. I wanted my look to hold that same sense of youthful joy paired with the honesty of adulthood.

Taking stripes from an old childhood book as a way to navigate that I thought about how the character got sick from what she ate. Then I remembered the shirt I bought at Katsucon! Sweet Disaster! I was hype what a concept! Striped to symbolize that illness, and sweetness accessories of romantic language and food to mimic love. I mean think of it, when we become adults one of the most unexpected diseases we experience is lousy love! You see where I'm getting at? This story that inspired my outfit tells a tale of love in our adulthood succumbing to nostalgia and becoming a disaster. Poetry in motion and I loved that a causal outfit could tell such a story.
