Magical Girl

Battle Mage - Magical Girl

Inspired by my love of Anime Magical Girls, this facet of my writing and style represents my Kawaii (Japanese for “Cute”) lifestyle. I admire Ultra Femme aesthetics, the color pink, and magic. From Sailor Moon to Sanrio this part of me is 100% invested in being Kawaii and Fierce. This is the newest of my inner selves, and perhaps most famous for “Pink Energy”. I have a fiery spirit and temper and I protect femme energy, Kawaii lifestyles and all kawaii melanin I come across. Unique to this writing voice, “Kawaii Journalism”  a writing style I created on my own, is to share the intersection in kawaii lifestyles, and mentality. You can look forward to seeing my work featured soon, but for now enjoy it on my blog.

Kei Club Overview:

I am currently geeking over the first Issue of Kei club which did not disappoint. I don’t have an unboxing video for you sadly, but you can check out a friends video to the right! I will tell you about the magazine and my experience having the issue arrive, alongside the joy of the kawaii treasures inside. If you want to learn more about Kei-club I highly recommend hitting up their Instagram & website for more information. The magazine/zine features Jfashion news, art, conversation, and brands and is the first of its kind to be produced in the United States. Kit and Callie have outdone themselves bringing the Jfashion community together in print. This project is going to grow, and I love every second of it.

Pink Energy in the Package:

I loved how the magazine arrived in a pink package, the branding for Kei club alone is ultimate kawaii power. When I first opened up my packet, my siblings teased me for how excited I was, especially how drastic my mood shifted from down to super excited. I loved how neatly the magazine and VIP/Founder gifts were wrapped. Inside the package:

• Kei Club Issue 1

• Kei Club Bracelet

• Kei Club Acrylic Pin

• Kei Club Founder patch

• Kei Club Member Card

• Sticker by Mahou Pop

• Art Card by Ota-Q Apparel

It was so much! I was overjoyed by these kawaii treasures. Seriously, how it all came together is the icing on the cake!

First Issue Review:

My only grievance with the issue is I wish there were more pages! I loved how the magazine was organized and represented Jfashion communities. I also was delighted to see that indie stores and brands offered a discount in the magazine. That surprise detail honestly showed me how invested the community is in investing in each other and supporting one another. I took a quick liking to what Kei Club meant and its potential, and it did not disappoint. As founding member number 14 I’m happy to support this magazine and who knows what magical Jfashion work I’ll come across in future issues.

I look forward to it!
