Magical Girl

We forget about the journey of magical girls and here is the space in which I explore everything related to kawaii, harajuku, anime, and everything pink.

Battle Mage - Magical Girl

Inspired by my love of Anime Magical Girls, this facet of my writing and style represents my Kawaii (Japanese for “Cute”) lifestyle. I admire Ultra Femme aesthetics, the color pink, and magic. From Sailor Moon to Sanrio this part of me is 100% invested in being Kawaii and Fierce.

Humble Pink Beginnings

Here's the thing, nothing inspires a photo-shoot like Pollo la Brasa. I'm also positive that despite my pink energy I don't have nearly enough pink clothing to fuel my bursting Starfire energy. In all honesty, the source of this energy is unknown. Perhaps, it's my Jadedisland way of coping with a lot of depressing factors in my life, with a bejeweled cover. Pink energy despite the new popularity with new followers and social media friends wasn't meant to trend as a Jade thing. Its just energy I labeled to motivate myself to get out of bed, and exist outside the space of darker thoughts. I needed light to guide one weary heart to take a step towards the living.

Tokyo Mew Mew

Tokyo Mew Mew

It's not just pink amazon wigs, and heart glasses that inspire a look. There is a magnetizing aesthetic that just calls me to become a magical girl. Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and Winx are some of the few magical girl shows that really inspired my love of powerful cute girls. I favored the main characters most of the time, with their pink aesthetics. I loved the furious fusion of frills and twirls that knocked bad people away. I wanted pink to be an energy that knocks away my weary sorrow, even if it is for a little bit. An odd coping device, but it works.

Humble Pink Beginnings:

So let's say you are intrigued about what I'm wearing to channel that magical girl energy. Any fashion person will tell you its all in the accessories. I'll tell you it's all about the color accents. Little things like headbands, jewelry, and even the color of your socks can be the beginning of a future fashion icon of Instagram. In my case, I'm working with brands that asked me to promote. While at the same time planning to incorporate more Japanese fashion and anime fusions to my humble closet. Just in case, the "Magical Girl" shirt in my now global photo is now featured on plenty of places.

Don't sleep on your local thrift store either! One of my favorite yellow sweaters, found in the "mens" section really pulls out the nerdy magical girl look. I think having fun glasses, and a winning bookworm charm works in my favor. Top that with my eye for color, and charming thick petite form and we have Jadedisland. I'm looking to get items from brands I've been keeping an eye on via social media. Adorned By Chi is my main brand that I promote, but don't worry folks I'll be dabbling all over the place soon. Cause true aesthetic is pulling from many sources and still presenting unity from your imagination.

This Blog outfit was from the Peach Peach Store, who contacted me via Instagram. The top is "Acid Sugar" for a relatively low price. Crop tops are new to me, I'm still building confidence to wear anything that shows my midriff. The pricing is nice, but the shipping and material for clothing are just about awful. It took a month for me to get two items, and there was never any shipping updates or accurate contact information from a store that took my money the second I hit purchase. I loved my taste, but the product doesn't fit over 32DDD, and without a size chart the site offers little information for a bigger or curvier shopper. Honestly, the disappointment lies more in the fact, that communicating with the store only works with Instagram. While I doubt my code "jadedisland" works, if you do use it and despite my warnings buy from the shop. It should save you 15% off your order. I highly doubt I'll be ordering from the store again, but I now know I am not afraid to test out smaller shops, or lesser-known shops. I just need more research in order to craft my pink look. It looks like this shop has a lot of promoters, and they constantly update their Instagram, so fellow model, muse, and prevailer of fashionable things be wary when interacting, and be mindful of my peachy truths.
