Here's more info if you're new to JFashion and/ or kawaii culture ~

History -
Harajuku style has been in existence since the early 1980's, and it became known in the West around the 00's. Harajuku style is named after Harajuku Station in Tokyo.

About once a month, fashionable kids from Japan and around the world-- both visitors and residents-- gather at JR Harajuku station’s Takeshita exit for a simple event to celebrate this neighborhood’s unique fashion.

At the Harajuku Fashion Walk, participants walk around the neighborhood to both show off their outfits and to socialize with like-minded people.

DC Kawaii Style's HFW
Our DC-hosted Harajuku Fashion Walks are generally done through downtown DC with three main points along the way for group pictures + other photo opportunities.

We share more about Harajuku fashion, the culture's sub-styles, and our individual style choices as a warm, friendly introduction to the community, overall.

What is a SWAP MEET?
A swap meet refers to a J Fashion event where attendees sell or trade items that they no longer wear. It is a great way to see things in person and buy them without having to think about shipping! If you and another attendee are interested in each other’s things, you can also negotiate a trade!

Our swap meet is a ticketed event that welcomes experienced and new JFashion lovers.
